The strongest man on the North American Continent

 

Strength, Passion, and Determination, three words that say a lot about this internationally known athlete, Christian Savoie. For the last two years, he has been both the Canadian Champion and the North American Champion, making him the strongest man on the North American Continent in 2009 and 2010! Goal: To become the first Canadian to obtain the title of World Strongest Man.

 

His story starts when, at the age of 13, he started to work with his father in the forest industry. Even then, many manual tasks he performed like loading by hand a trailer of logs attracted attention. His father would tell him how when he too was young he impressed his co-workers by lifting weights that they could not lift.

 

“One day on the way home with my friends, we had a flat tire. We did not have a car jack and this is when I decided to lift the car so that the tire could be changed. Once again, my friends were amazed!“

 

Following several manual jobs, a supervised diet and constant physical training, in 1999, his career as a strong man started.

 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

2000   First place in an amateur competition in Béthanie.

2001   7th place in a Canadian competition         
2002   5th place in the Coupe Québec
2003   Quebec Champion in the lifting of the wheelbarrow
2004   4th place in the Coupe Québec
2005   3rd place in the Coupe Québec  et 8th a the United Strongman Series,
             International level

2006   Christian established his personal record at the lifting of the wheelbarrow;
             2470 lbs over a distance of 20 feet.

2007   7th place at a World Competition in Russia
2008   Winner of the Coupe Québec and 6th place in a World Competition in Belarus
2009   Hat trick
             Provincial Champion, Canadian Champion  and North American Champion,
2010   2nd Hat trick
             Provincial Champion, Canadian Champion, and North American Champion,
             6th place in Finland 
             5th place in Bulgaria, at the Strongman Champion League.
2011   Development  of a strategic team with a personal trainer, a doctor, a dietician,
             therapists, financial partners and a personnel development agent

 

 

My goal today is to become the world strongest man and to share my passion for this sport with the next generation.
